Real Pain

Have you ever endured real pain?

It is a serious emotion,

One that can put a ripple in your goals,

One that can press pause on your life.

I thought I knew what pain was,

But nothing compares to this.

This is what pain actually feels like,

When you stop feeling like yourself.

Floating in the air like a balloon,

Unaware of which way the wind will blow.

Feeling torn apart, piece by piece.

Real pain.

The type of pain where your heart is aching,

And you can’t do anything to stop it.

Real pain.

I’ve come to the realization that mental pain is far worse than physical pain.

If only we could rewind time and prevent certain things from happening,

To prevent that real pain.

Have you ever started a puzzle and a piece was missing?

You’ve looked everywhere but cannot find that last missing piece to complete the puzzle.

Maybe that missing piece will never be found, and there is now a permanent void in that space.

Or, you can replace it with a new piece that resembles the missing piece as close as possible.

Maybe you will never be whole because you never found that missing piece, but you can always look for alternatives that will fill that empty space.

So go find that missing piece you’ve been missing for days, months, years.

You never know what you may come across on your search.

Because you just might find happiness in your pursuit,

All so you can prevent,

Real pain.

  1. Deep, Thought Provoking, and True.

I lean on the Bible when I feel a “piece is missing” because God promises to be present.

    • Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This emphasizes God’s nearness during times of distress.
    • Matthew 11:28-30: Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest, offering solace and relief from life’s struggles.
