Dear Coach,

Thank you for everything you said to me at our meeting.

I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for your disrespectful comments.

Yeah, the ones where you said, “no disrespect, but you’re probably not going to the NFL.”

I replay this moment every single day in my head,

and I feel so much rage,

so much anger.

I won’t put your name out there, but you know who you are.

I hope you see the improvement in my game since we last spoke,

because you are the reason why I wake up motivated every day.

Every time I go out for practice,

I think about the words you said to me,

as they have become engraved into my brain.

I know my value, and you did not see the potential.

I still had four years of college football left,

and you did not believe in me.

Anything can happen in four years,

but it’s all good, you weren’t invested.

I mean hey, at least you were honest, right?

Why should I be angry?

You spoke your truth,

that’s fair.

Coach, if you’re reading this, thank you and I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

I’ll remember to give you a call on draft day.
